1. Who we are
Project Gender is a New Zealand-based organisation selling merchandise related to the SHORTCHANGED podcast and our wider mission.Contact: kiaora@projectgender.co.nz
2. Our products and fulfilment partner
Our merchandise is produced and shipped by Printful, a third-party print-on-demand fulfilment company. When you order, we pass your order and delivery details to Printful, who print and dispatch your item directly to you. Printful is not the seller of record — your contract for purchase is with Project Gender, and these terms apply regardless of who physically fulfils your order.Because items are made to order:Colours may vary slightly from what you see on screen, depending on your device display.Sizing follows the size charts listed on each product page — please check these carefully before ordering, as items are custom-printed for you.Minor variations in print placement, stitching, or garment batch are normal for print-on-demand production and are not considered faults.
3. Orders and acceptance
Placing an order through the Site is an offer to purchase, which we accept once we send you an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order (for example, if a product is unexpectedly out of stock, if there's a pricing error, or if we suspect fraudulent activity), in which case we will notify you and refund any payment already made.
4. Pricing and payment
All prices are listed in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include GST where applicable, unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs are calculated separately at checkout.Payment is processed securely through our third-party payment provider at the time you place your order. We do not store your full card details.We try to keep pricing accurate, but if an error occurs (for example, a product is mispriced), we will contact you before processing your order and give you the option to confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
5. Shipping and delivery
Because orders are fulfilled by Printful, delivery times depend on the production location closest to you and can vary. Estimated production and shipping times will be shown at checkout or on product pages where available — these are estimates only, not guaranteed delivery dates.Orders may occasionally ship from outside New Zealand. International shipments may be subject to customs processing, and in rare cases, import duties or fees, which are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.Risk in the goods (loss or damage) passes to you once the item is delivered to the address you provided. Please double-check your shipping address at checkout, as we cannot be responsible for orders sent to an incorrect address you supplied.
6. Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), where you are purchasing as a consumer (i.e. for personal use, not for resupply or use in a business). Under the CGA, products we supply must:be of acceptable quality (safe, durable, and free from defects);match their description; andbe fit for their intended purpose.If a product you receive is faulty, significantly different from what was described, or damaged in transit, contact us at kiaora@projectgender.co.nz with your order number and photos of the issue, and we will arrange a repair, replacement, or refund in line with the CGA.Please note: the CGA does not cover a change of mind, ordering the wrong size after checking the size chart, or normal print-on-demand variations described in Section 2. Because items are custom-printed to order, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect size selection — please check sizing carefully before ordering.
7. Faults, misprints, and returns
If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or misprinted, let us know within 14 days of delivery at kiaora@projectgender.co.nzwith your order number and clear photos of the issue. We will work with Printful to arrange a free reprint, replacement, or refund, consistent with your CGA rights. We may ask you to return the faulty item — if so, we'll cover reasonable return shipping costs for confirmed faults.
8. Cancellations
Because orders are sent to production quickly to keep delivery times reasonable, we may not be able to cancel or amend an order once it has been submitted to Printful for printing. Contact us as soon as possible at kiaora@projectgender.co.nzif you need to change or cancel an order, and we'll do our best to help before production begins.
9. Intellectual property
All designs, logos, podcast branding, and content on our merchandise and the Site are owned by or licensed to Project Gender and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not reproduce, copy, or use our designs or branding for commercial purposes without our written permission.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Project Gender's liability for any claim arising from your purchase is limited to the value of the order in question, except where liability cannot be limited or excluded under the CGA or Fair Trading Act 1986. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
11. Privacy
Information collected during checkout is handled in line with our [Privacy Policy], including sharing necessary order details with Printful and our payment processor to fulfil your order.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in place at the time you place your order will apply to that order. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
